The Prep Crew Camp is a “Learn to Row” program that introduces the Olympic sport of rowing to boys and girls entering 6th thru 9th grades. The goal is to provide opportunities for students interested in learning about rowing in a non-competitive environment. The sessions teach individuals the mechanics of how to row with one oar (sweep rowing) which can also be applied to two oared rowing (sculling). The program is designed to give each camper time to develop and improve rowing skills in a relaxed atmosphere. The students will gain an appreciation for the technical aspects of the sport, as well as the teamwork involved in moving eight-oared rowing shells. The Prep Crew staff draws on a wealth of experience that includes coaching at the high school, club, college and international levels.
