Incoming 9th Grade Students--Class of 2028

Hawk Program, Crimson & Gray Program, Prep Advantage Program, Virtual Study Skills Workshop
HAWK PROGRAM
(Daily, June 24 - July 26)
This program is designed for students who would like to get ahead in the areas of English, Mathematics, and Spanish. Each class meets for 80 minutes per day and is designed for students who scored in the 90th percentile or above on the entrance exam.  For questions regarding the Hawk Program, please contact Mr. Daniel Ranalli ’00, Assistant Principal of Academics and Faculty Development, at dranalli@sjprep.org.
Eligible students will receive a separate email invitation with more details about this program in March.

CRIMSON & GRAY PROGRAM
(Daily, June 24 - July 26)
This program is designed to provide incoming freshmen with a rich learning experience that will enable them to gain the knowledge and skills necessary for a successful start to their Prep careers in certain academic areas that are often identified as being particularly challenging. These include English, Latin, Mathematics, and Science. Each class period runs for 60 minutes. Time is also built into the schedule to allow students time to get to know their new school and meet the teachers/administrators they may come into contact with during their SJP career. The Crimson & Gray Program is designed for all incoming students except for those who are invited to participate in the Hawk or Prep Advantage Program.
For questions regarding the Crimson & Gray Program, please contact Mr. Kevin Gregorio, Director of Learning Services, at kgregorio@sjprep.org.

PREP ADVANTAGE PROGRAM
(Daily, June 24 - July 26)
This program is designed for students who were asked to attend the Prep Advantage Summer Program as noted in their Class of 2028 acceptance letter. Similar to the Crimson & Gray Program, this cohort will allow students to get a head-start on their freshman year by giving students an in-depth introduction to the Prep’s Latin, English, Math and Science curricula. There is also a daily “coaching session” in study skills that reinforces good study habits, learning techniques, and organization. Most of the material covered in these classes will also be revisited during the first quarter of the school year, easing the transition into coursework. Each class period runs for 60 minutes.

For questions regarding the Prep Advantage Program, please contact Mr. Kevin Gregorio, Director of Learning Services, at kgregorio@sjprep.org. While families and students for this program were already notified during the admissions process, an email confirmation form will be sent to all participating families to confirm next steps. All students who were asked to attend this program will receive additional information from Mr. Gregorio closer to the beginning of the program.
