Auditions For Spring Cape And Sword Show
The Cape and Sword Drama Society announces in-person, after-school auditions for its spring show “A Very Cape and Sword Virtual Musical Bonanza” (AVC&SVMB). Auditions will take place on Monday, March 1st from 3-7 p.m.
In order to audition, students must email the Director Mr. Tony Braithwaite ’89 no later than Sunday, February 28 by 6 pm., for an audition time. Auditioners will then be emailed specific audition time slots (to assist with social distancing and avoid crowded areas backstage and in the hallway). No student can audition without an email-approved time slot.
- AVC&SVMB will be an original virtual show, and will include iconic musical numbers from shows like My Fair Lady, Come From Away, Guys and Dolls, Kiss Me Kate, Book of Mormon, Smokey Joe's Cafe, The Prom, South Pacific, Catch Me If You Can and more
- The show will be rehearsed in-person after school in March, April and May and then filmed professionally and streamed in May or June. Cast size 25 to 30 ish
- Audition-ers should prepare and memorize 30 to 45 seconds of an up-tempo (non-ballad) PG-13 song from one of the shows listed above; please provide music on your phone, we will provide a speaker
Actresses needed:
- This show will involve actresses, who will audition virtually. Interested young ladies from any area high school are welcome to submit an audition video via email to Mr. Braithwaite by Sunday, February 28th at 6 PM. Audition videos should include 30 to 45 seconds of an up-tempo (non-ballad) PG-13 song from one of the shows listed above.
