SJP Announces 2020 Football Schedule

St. Joseph’s Prep has announced its 2020 football schedule. The season will begin this Saturday, October 10 and feature five regular season games, including three against Philadelphia Catholic League 6A opponents. The team, which has won the past two Pennsylvania State Championships and five of the last seven, hopes to continue on to the PIAA Playoffs, which will culminate in Hershey, PA on Thanksgiving Weekend.

“We are confident that we can compete in a safe manner, following all of the required protocols,” says Athletic Director Dan DiBernardinis. “We strongly desire to give our student-athletes the opportunity to compete, which we believe is important for their physical and emotional development. At the same time, we know how important it is for many of our student-athletes to accumulate film for college scholarships, etc.”

The school will utilize its Return to Play protocols, that were approved by city and state health officials.

There will be no fans allowed in the stadium for games played in Pennsylvania at this time but there will be video streaming available, mostly through a partnership with SFBN (Sports Fan Base Network). The WSJP Student Broadcasting Club will be providing the commentary. Check Prep Social Media accounts for links each week.
