This spring, Prep Tennis won its third consecutive Catholic League title and Prep Crew won the program’s 43rd PCL title. Both programs are helmed by Prep graduates and include other Prep Hawks among the coaching ranks.
In addition to its third consecutive PCL title, it was Prep Tennis’s third consecutive PIAA District 12 title. In that time, the Prep has not lost a regular season match (27-0) and has not dropped a match in any of the last three District 12 Championships (15-0). This is the second time in program history that Prep Tennis has won three consecutive PCL tennis titles in a row. “As a program, we continue to elevate the experiences we are sharing together each year. This season meant a lot to me personally as it’s always been a dream to coach this team. We are a totally different program than we were in 2018 and that didn’t come overnight. We, as coaches, had a vision as to what this team could be; now we are at a place where there are expectations as to what it should be. Everybody buys in; everyone plays a role. Our culture is strong and our commitment to improving and elevating what we do on and off the court has never been more evident. I can’t thank the assistant coaches, players, parents, faculty/staff, administration and our alumni for the support over the last few years.” - Joe Boyle ’09, Head Coach
In addition to winning the PCL title, Prep Crew swept at Stotesbury for just the third time in program history. At this time, they are competing at Nationals in Sarasota, Fla., and the Varsity 8 will be headed for the Henley Royal Regatta in July. “This has been an historic season for Prep Crew as it is the first year we officially broke away from the PSRA (Philadelphia Scholastic Rowing Association) in pursuit of a higher level of competition nationally with the top clubs and high schools. I am really proud of our entire program as they have shown depth from top to bottom and we are looking forward to the challenges this June and July at USRowing Youth Nationals and the Henley Royal Regatta” - John Fife ’98, Head Coach
