Alumni Service Corps Named for 2023-24; New Emmaus Teaching Fellowship Announced

Dan Ranalli ’00, Assistant Principal, recently announced two new members of the Alumni Service Corps (ASC), which is entering its 30th year, and the creation of the Emmaus Teaching Fellowship (ETF).

The ASC members for the 2023-24 academic year will be Jack Clinton ’18 and Scott Hibbs ’19. Clinton, a native of Havertown, graduated from Temple University with a major in communications. He will work with Admissions, Mission and Ministry, DEI, and Learning Services. Hibbs, from Drexel Hill, graduated from Fordham University with a major in political science and a minor in business administration. He will work with the History Department, Mission and Ministry, and Learning Services.

Ranalli also announced that two current members of the ASC, Riley Burns ’18 and Stephen Dierkes ’18, will form the first cohort for the newly-established Emmaus Teaching Fellowship. Both Burns and Dierkes, who have demonstrated their commitment to the magis throughout the year, are eager to return to the Prep as teaching fellows.

As an ASC, Burns taught two sections of English I and shared his talents in working with Admissions, Mission and Ministry, and Learning Services. Although he has contributed to Prep life in many ways outside of the school day, he is most famous for being the coach of the (almost) undefeated Freshman basketball team. Next year, Burns will work full-time in the English Department.

Dierkes taught one section of Latin I and shared his talents  with the Liturgical Ensemble, Mission and Ministry, and Learning Services. He has contributed to Prep life outside of the school day in many ways: particularly as a coach of Prep Swimming and coordinator of Stage Crew for the Cape & Sword Drama Society. Next year, Dierkes will work mostly in the Classics Department, and will teach and direct the Liturgical Ensemble.
