The St. Vincent De Paul Center located at 49 W Logan St in the Germantown Section of Philadelphiaprovides unique educationalservice experiences in line with the example of St. Vincent de Paul and St. Louis de Marillac. “Our aim is to allow students to have an experience that will help them realize their calling to serve both their own communities as well as needy communitiesaround the world. And most importantly, to help them recognize that compassion is at the heart of all life!” Theprogram guides participants in recognizing their responsibility to the poor and vulnerable in their community, and communities around the world. Students will visit various organizations where they will be cleaning, organizing, tutoring, playing--whatever is needed while they are there. The program, in true Ignatian fashion, emphasizes service as something to be done with others as a two-way process in which our students are serving as well as being served by the experience. The students will also get a glimpse into the historical, political and sociological context of the situations they are placed in which aides the transformative nature of their experience.
