Men of the Golden Anniversary Class of 1970,

Much as it was in our early years at The Prep, it’s been an uncertain and rocky journey, but all systems are go for our ‘50 ish” reunion! As Mark Twain appropriately said, "All good things arrive unto them that wait--and don’t die in the meantime.”

To that end, putting the pandemic in the rear-view mirror, we are in full gear in planning for our 50th anniversary. The dates are set so please clear your calendars for June 3-5.

Let’s face it, a 50-year anniversary is a once in a lifetime experience, a chance for us to get together, remember and relate, mourn those we have lost, and renew the spirit we all share.

The fire did not dissuade us from attending the Prep, did it? So, let’s forge ahead and plan to attend our reunion and remember … lunch running from 2nd to 7th periods, band practice in the pool, swimming and b-ball at Memorial Hall, Roman not Lasalle, pep rallies in the parking lot (with Hyski-Orooni-McVouty-O-Zoot!), mixers, proms, debating and forensics, plays, retreats, homecomings, The Hawklet, the hospital coffee shop, the new Senior Lounge, and much more.
And perhaps even more importantly, the men who taught and led us: the Fathers: Ayd, McGinty, Fay, Donahoe, Reese, Bradley, Lynch, Carmody, Ryan, Garber, Mullen, Schnorr; Brother Stone; the Laymen: Doyle, Dugan, the Keunys, Kling, Hart, Barton, Brennan, Bender, Fitzpatrick, Gallop, Gaffney, Murphy, Murray, Mullen, Vespoli, Wright, DeHoratius, Burke; the Misters: Philips, Muldoon, Raeuber, George…et al.

We have been working with the Prep to make our reunion special and memorable. We know many will come from far and wide and we have taken care to organize events that will engender the most time together.  Of course, the center piece of our weekend’s activities will be Saturday’s gathering at the Prep (to which wives and significant others are invited), a school that has undergone significant transformation over the last five decades.

We realize that it has been a long, on again-off again adventure, but it is going to be “EPIC” seeing everyone so please review the program and register ASAP.

Looking forward to seeing you, June 3rd!!
