Summer at the Prep

Pre 9th: Class of 2028

The Pre-9th Program at the Prep is for students who will be attending the Prep in the fall. Pre-9th students are eligible to partake in the afternoon summer camps.
We are pleased to welcome members of the Class of 2028.

Hawk

This program is designed for students who would like to get ahead in the areas of Mathematics, Science, and Spanish. Each class meets for 80 minutes per day and is designed for students who scored in the 90th percentile or above on the entrance exam. Eligible students will receive a separate email invitation with more details about this program.

Study Skills

Through a series of virtual sessions, students will learn ways to improve time management skills, focus on good study habits, and self-advocate with teachers/moderators.

Prep Counselor Dr. Bill Gillespie will post a virtual session twice each week for Class of 2025 students. Through a combination of lecture and Q&A assignments, he will be available for one-on-one meetings with students and parents.

Crimson & Gray

Designed to provide incoming freshmen with a rich learning experience that will enable them to gain the knowledge and skills necessary for a successful start to their Prep careers, Crimson & Gray students will focus on academic areas that are often identified as challenging--English, Latin, Mathematics, and Science. Each class period runs for 60 minutes. Time is built into the schedule so that students can become familiar with the school and teachers.

The Crimson & Gray Program is designed for all incoming students except for those who are invited to participate in the Hawk or Prep Advantage Program.

Prep Advantage

This daily program is designed for students who were invited to the Prep Advantage Summer Program as noted in their Class of 2028 acceptance letter. This cohort will allow students to get a head-start on their freshman year by giving students an in-depth introduction to the Prep’s Latin, English, Math and Science curricula as well as study skills and learning techniques.
