Community Honors Martin Luther King Jr.

Programs honoring the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. begin on Saturday, January 14 with Prep students participating in Cherry Hill's MLK Day of Service for Nature. The Prep Environmental Club has been cleaning up public parks in their stewardship of the planet.
On Monday, January 16, a day on--not a day off--St. Joseph's Prep will partner with neighboring Gesu School for a Universal Prayer, the Examen and various service projects. The projects will benefit the following organizations:
  • Sandwiches for Local Shelters including Bethesda Project
  • Jenna’s Blessing Bags
  • Cancer Comfort kits for the HEADstrong Foundation
  • Cradles to Crayons
In commemoration of the 60th Anniversary of Dr. King's "I Have a Dream Speech," three Prep students will read excerpts from the famous speech given during the March on Washington in 1963. The message of equality, justice, and hope that Dr. King was offering still resonates today.
