Joe Frattone ’89 P ’22

Joe Frattone ’89 P ’22 and his wife Kim are proud supporters of St. Joseph’s Prep through The Prep Fund and are both members of the Villiger Executive Council, a group of parents who serve as advisors to the president and his leadership team. Their son Joseph is a rising senior and an active member of the Mountain Biking Team.

“The Prep is a special place near and dear to my heart,” Frattone says. “I received a stellar education provided by men and women who cared deeply about me and this school. The Prep challenged me academically, athletically, and spiritually and whatever success I have had in life, the Prep is more responsible for it than any other school I have attended. The Prep is home and I will always be proud of my association with Mother Prep. My love of the Prep continues through the camaraderie that lives on in my interactions with Preppers both past and present.”

The Frattones are very pleased with their son’s education as well, especially since the decision to attend the Prep was a difficult one for Joseph, who lives a distance away in Gilbertsville. “We are proud of the transformation we have seen during Joseph’s first three years,” Frattone says. “We sent him to the Prep so he would be academically challenged in a Catholic school setting and we have not been disappointed. Joseph is learning what it takes to be successful, a lesson he will carry forward for the rest of his life. He was apprehensive about attending the Prep due to the long commute and the fact that he was the only one from his school who would be attending, but the Prep has worked its ‘magic’ and he has fully embraced his time there. Although Joseph looks forward to college, he has shared with us that he will miss his time at the Prep.” That well-rounded education, with exposure to students from across the Delaware Valley and the socioeconomic spectrum, is a major reason why the Frattones support the Prep.

“We believe it is important to keep the Prep a viable option for the masses,” he says. “For most families, a Prep education requires sacrifice. We support The Prep Fund to help bridge the gap for those who may not otherwise be able to afford the Prep. I was the beneficiary of sacrifices made by my parents and Prep benefactors, so this is an opportunity for us to help bridge that gap for others.”
