COLLEGE CORNER - Scott Yezzi ’20, Fordham University (Lincoln Center)

APU: Tell us your Prep story.
SY: Both my Grandpop (Vince Yezzi ’52) and my dad (Tom ’85) went to the Prep, as well as all of my older cousins, but I didn't feel any pressure to go to the Prep myself. After visiting and shadowing at a number of different high schools, I felt in my gut that the Prep was the place for me.

While at the Prep, I was primarily involved in the Cape and Sword Drama Society, being in every production since the spring of my freshman year. I was also involved with Mission and Ministry, where I was a leader on four different retreats, including Kairos.

APU: Where are you now?
SY: I am currently a student at Fordham University on the Lincoln Center Campus. I chose Fordham for many reasons, namely its location, renowned program, and the fact that it is a Jesuit university. Thus far, my first year here has been great! It can be hard sometimes having all of my classes online, but I am just glad to be up in the city and on campus.

I am majoring in theater design and production with a concentration in stage management. My goal would be to eventually be working in the theater industry in New York! I also plan on picking up a double major in the visual arts program, specifically either graphic/new media design and/or film and TV.

APU: What are some of your favorite Prep memories?
SY: I have so many great Prep memories, including, but not limited to, spending time in the College Counseling office, every AP Language and Composition class with Ms. (Susie) Cook, being a part of the productions of Newsies, The Murder at Ramsbottom Manor, and Spamalot, and most noteably, Kairos CLXIV.
