Why did you choose to go to the Prep?
I chose Prep over other area schools because I felt that I would thrive best in the competitive but supportive environment. I have no family connections to the Prep, but was drawn to it from the moment I visited during the summer and school year. It was something about the community and the enthusiasm of the teachers that gave me a sense that I would like to spend four years in the classrooms here. I also was attracted to the urban location of the Prep and its proximity to a variety of museums, venues, and other educational sources.

What are you involved in and how has it affected you?
I have been an active member of the Church Choir for the past three years. Not only has it helped me create fellowship between me and my other Prep brothers, it has allowed me to serve the community during mass in a way that I enjoy.

I’m also an editor for The Hawkeye student newspaper at the Prep. In this role, I get to learn more about the life of the school and communicate it to the wider community. I get to express my love for writing and help others discover their own passion for writing by overseeing and mentoring new writers.
