Transportation

This section details our transportation plans during the hybrid academic schedule, as well as our safety measures for all Prep buses and vans.
The Prep contracts with Eagle Wolfington to provide busing to and from the Prep. The stops and routes are determined based on student population. Student addresses are mapped in a software program to determine the “best fit” for bus stops and routes. As stated earlier in the section on division of students, the student body will be divided roughly in half by geographical location and will report to school on corresponding days. The buses begin pickup times as early as 6:00 AM for some routes and arrive at the Prep between 7:25 AM and 8:00 AM. Arrival times are intentionally staggered for purposes of safety, particularly maintaining social distancing as students enter the building. All buses depart the Prep at 5:20 PM. Busing is provided either one way (AM or PM) or both ways. Families that reside in townships and school districts that provide transportation should contact their district prior to the start of school with any questions about stops and routes. Township and district buses leave the Prep at 2:45 PM daily. SEPTA and PATCO services have been affected due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Families who rely on these transportation providers are highly encouraged to review the routes and schedules that they offer in order to determine the best travel plan for getting to the Prep. The Prep will continue to offer shuttle service to and from Suburban Station at 16th and JFK Blvd. beginning at 7:15 AM and continuing until all students are picked up. Due to social distancing requirements, travelers may experience longer wait times than usual while using those services.

In light of the continued threat of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Prep has decided to institute the following transportation protocols:
  • Social distancing will be required on all Prep shuttles and buses. Only one student will be permitted per seat.
  • Students will be required to wear an appropriate face mask while riding in Prep vehicles. The mask must cover both nose and mouth.
  • Each bus will be supplied with EPA/CDC acceptable hand sanitizer. Students will be required to sanitize their hands upon entering the vehicle.
  • Students will be seated from the rear of the bus to the front of the bus.
  • Students will have assigned seats.
  • Between each trip, the buses will be disinfected using EPA/CDC approved materials.
  • The windows on the bus will be open to an appropriate amount based on weather to aid in airflow.
  • Students should refrain from touching other students, their belongings, and their seats while on the bus.
  • Eating will not be permitted on any Prep vehicle.
