Your processor, PHEAA if you live in Pennsylvania, will generate a Student Aid Report (SAR), which will contain your estimated family contribution (EFC). These are guidelines only. Unless specified in a school’s literature, they are not obligated to meet full need. While some schools with large endowments are easing the loan burden on students, most schools are unable to, and continue to use loans and work/study to fill out a package.
