Forensics
The Speech and Debate Team of St. Joseph's Prep serves students who wish to improve their oratorical, analytical, and writing skills by allowing them to participate in a wide range of forensics events. Events students can explore range from student congress and dramatic interpretation of literature to extemporaneous speaking and debate, while gaining appreciation for teamwork and camaraderie. Tournaments for these various events are held at many of the nation's top colleges and universities where the team travels each year to compete and cut their teeth against top competition from around the country. Over the past few years members have traveled to tournaments hosted by Harvard, Yale, and Princeton Universities and have participated and placed in state and national championships held in cities around the continental United States.
