Thank you for your interest in St. Joseph’s Prep. Whether this is your first time visiting our website or you’re a long-time friend of the Prep, welcome! I invite you to explore our Program of Studies and the many opportunities beyond the classroom that are available for our students. The Prep is a vibrant community with chances for students to find their vocation as scientist, artist, mathematician, writer, explore a wide range of clubs and excel at sports, drama, music, service projects and so much more.
As an alumnus and now President of the Prep, I’m happy to share some of the highlights of my first year at 17th and Girard through the slideshow below. I feel blessed to be leading the Prep at this important time in our history, a place that is dear to the hearts of so many including Mayor of Philadelphia, Jim Kenney ’76. During his inauguration speech, Kenney reflected on the impact of the Prep in his life and thanked his parents for sending him to the Prep. He reflected on the values he learned here which are the foundation for his life in public service. “You can never truly be happy unless you are in service to others.” We were honored that he joined us at the Father/Son Alumni Breakfast in February.
The most rewarding aspect of my job is developing relationships with our students and celebrating their accomplishments. It was a privilege to confer degrees for the Class of 2016 at Commencement in June. I look forward to welcoming the Class of 2020 and their families in September, a generation of future leaders who will begin to form relationships, as men for and with others, that will last a lifetime.
