Overall Conclusions
- Remember always that our actions speak louder than our words.
- This process/experience needs to be expanded to include other members of the Prep community.
- Our efforts at Discernment and Renewal need to be sustained as an on-going, regular process.
Catholic
- Begin each class, meeting, activity with a prayer.
- Celebrate liturgies for smaller groups of students. Do this more often.
- Create small faith communities.
- Increase knowledge and experience of the Catholic faith both in and out of the classroom. Curriculum review and refreshment in light of mission. Outside speakers. Role modeling.
Jesuit
- Design, develop and implement a course on Jesuit History and Ignatian Spirituality.
- Promote experiences of the Spiritual Exercises of Ignatius.
- Promote a greater awareness and knowledge of Jesuit/Ignatian terms and phrases throughout the Prep community.
- Design, produce and distribute lapel pins celebrating that we are “Men for and with Others.”
- Design, develop and initiate an Ignatian Heritage Week.
Urban
- Increase Ignatian service opportunities in the immediate neighborhood.
- Recruit and offer increased financial aid and academic support for city students.
- Achieve greater ethnic/social and economic diversity.
- Explore the possibility of a Cristo Rey High School in Philadelphia
College Preparatory
- Consistent accountability
- Curriculum review and development in light of a shared understanding of mission
- Better supervision, evaluation and professional support for faculty.
