Whitney Wins Prestigious High School Football Award
Prep quarterback/safety Chris Whitney ’07 was selected as a winner of the Maxwell Football Club’s Mini Max High School Award. This award puts him among an elite group of individuals in this year’s class of honorees. He will receive his award at a dinner in January.
For winning the prize, Whitney will receive a $1,000 scholarship from the Maxwell Football Club. He is also a nominee for the Jim Henry Award which recognizes the top player/student in the region. The Henry Award will be presented at the January awards dinner.
In 2006, Whitney was named Catholic League Red Division MVP for the second straight year as he helped to lead The Prep to the league championship for the seventh straight year. The Prep also continued its unbeaten league win streak to 48, outscoring opponents 1,709-330 (average 35.6-6.9). Whitney was first-team, all-Catholic at both positions this year and was first-team, all-city at QB.
