FOREIGN LANGUAGE AWARENESS MONTH
February is Foreign Language Awareness Month and in keeping with the theme of “Discovering Languages,” the Modern Language Department is sponsoring a foreign film festival each Wednesday in February at 3 p.m., in Room 206.
Films to be shown are:
- Tortilla Soup - a comedy starring Hector Elizondo and Raquel Welch, about a chef who is a single father raising three very independent daughters.
- Jenseits der Stille - a German drama about the hearing daughter of deaf parents that finds herself and her passion in learning to play the clarinet.
- Au Revoir Les Enfants - a French drama, and winner of the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival, about two boys who become friends in France during the German occupation in World War II.
- A Chinese film is also to be scheduled.
