Freshman Retreat

IGNITE Freshman Retreat
September 22-23, 2011

The “IgNite” retreat is an overnight experience that introduces freshmen to the Jesuit mission and community of St. Joe’s Prep. This year's retreat, held at the Prep, begins at 5pm on Thursday, September 22 and concludes on Friday, September 23 at 9pm.

The retreat’s name – IgNite – is a play on words, symbolizing how students spend the night being introduced to the beliefs and stories of Ignatius, the founder of the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits). More than 40 juniors and seniors, who serve as Big Brothers to your son throughout the year, organize and lead the retreat, along with nearly three dozen teachers and administrators.
All freshmen are required to attend the “IgNite” retreat, which, in addition to acquainting students to the Prep’s Jesuit traditions, also helps them come to better know themselves, relationships, their family and friends, and God.
