What is Hawk Rowing Camp?
The Hawk Rowing Camp is a "learn to row" program that introduces the Olympic Sport of rowing to boys and girls ages 12 to 15 year olds. The goal is to provide opportunities for students interested in learning about rowing in a non-competitive environment. The sessions teach individuals the mechanics of how to row with one oar (sweep rowing) which can also be applied to two oared rowing (sculling). The program is designed to give each camper time to develop and improve rowing skills in a relaxed atmosphere. The students will gain an appreciation for the technical aspects of the sport, as well as the teamwork involved in moving eight oared rowing shells.
Location, Schedule, and Costs
The Hawk Rowing Camp will be located at the Robert Gillin, Jr. Boathouse; home of the St. Joseph's Prep Rowing Program and will consist of two (2- week) sessions during the month of July. The session dates are:
SESSION ONE: Monday, June 30, to Friday, July 11, 2008 space available
1:30pm - 5:30pm (No camp on July 4)
SESSION TWO: Tuesday, July 15 to Friday, July 25, 2008 space available

A non-refundable deposit of $100.00 is required with registration in order to reserve a place in a session. Reservations are made on a first come, first serve basis and are limited to 100 campers per session. The cost per session is $600.00 and discounted to $1000 for campers who participate in both sessions. The balance is due June 25th.
