Tuition

The tuition for the 2010-2011 school year is $17,600. Tuition is payable by semester (August and December) or on a monthly, interest-free basis with Tuition Management Systems (TMS), an installment payment plan agency.

 

Financial Aid

Tuition Aid Data Services (TADS) will conduct financial need assessments for families that need assistance in paying tuition. The application process is fair and confidential. If financial assistance is required, complete the “Financial Aid” section on the Admission application. If requested, a TADS application will be mailed to your home or for faster processing you can apply online at http://www.tuitionaid.com. If you have any questions for TADS, call toll-free 1-800-477-8237, Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 5:00pm or email support@tuitionaid.com. All financial aid information must be submitted by November 26, 2010 in order to be eligible for maximum financial aid. TADS recommends you complete your application at least one week before this date to ensure your application is received and verified. If your application is late please contact us to make sure your application will still be considered. All final decisions regarding financial aid are made by the Prep. TADS does not have this information. Financial aid decisions are mailed during the second week of January.

 

Mailed Applications:

1. Please use the envelope provided to mail your application.
2. You must include photocopies of all supporting documentation requested on the application. Please do not
   send originals.
3. Supporting documentation must be sent right away so processing doesn’t delay: most recent W2 statements, most recent paystub, most recent federal tax form, most recent corporate tax return (if applicable), any 1099’s, and documentation for all other sources of income (social security, welfare, food stamps, unemployment, child support, workers compensation, etc.).
4. Please do not send in a paper application if you have completed an application online.

Special instructions for sections of the TADS form:

• Form - Section 22: List of Tuition Charging Schools
  Use the School ID 38000 for each dependent that plans to attend St. Joseph's Preparatory School for the 2010-2011 school year. Use the School ID 99999 to describe each dependent that will be attending any tuition charging school other than St. Joseph's Preparatory School during the 2010-2011 school year. Enter the first five characters of the School Name and the first five characters of the School City as listed below.

• Form - Section 24: Special Code Information
  No special codes. Please leave this section blank.
   
• Form - Section 25: Application Processing Fees
  1. Required Processing Fee: $34
  If you do not enclose this entire fee with your application, TADS will not be able to process your application. Make checks payable to TADS.
   
  2. Corporation/Partnership/Trust Processing Fee: $19
  You are required to pay this fee if you have filed any of the following forms: Form 1041, Form 1065, Form 1120-A, Form 1120, or Form 1120S.
   
  3. Parental Report Fee: $8
  By ordering this report, you will be able to review the accuracy of the information that TADS has taken from your application form. Your report will be sent about 10 working days after the Prep receives its report. This report does not show the amount of assistance you may receive from the Prep.

Financial assistance may be awarded to the student in the form of a "work grant." He will be asked to work in a clerical capacity at a time that is convenient for him. There will be a minimum work requirement of one marking period. He may choose the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th marking period and the time of the day, before or after school. A marking period is eight weeks in length; work lasts 1/2 hour per day, five days per week.

 

A Brothers' Reduction is possible for second and third siblings attending concurrently. However, the reduction is not automatic. The financial aid process via TADS must be completed in order to apply for a Brothers' Reduction. The Financial Aid Committee will determine if a Brothers' Reduction will be awarded.

 

Financial Aid packages are allocated on a one year basis only. If financial aid is needed for the remaining years, updated applications must be submitted each fall via TADS and financial aid will be allocated each spring.
