Graduation Requirements

In order to graduate from Saint Joseph’s Preparatory School, a student must earn a minimum of 26 academic credits as outlined below satisfy the State of Pennsylvania requirement for physical education and fulfill community service requirements through our Ignatian Service Program.

 

  Religious Studies 4 credits
  English 4 credits
  Mathematics / Computer Science 1 4 credits
  History (including one year of Government) 3 credits
  Science 3 credits
  Classics and Modern Languages 2 6 credits
  Fine Arts 3 1/2 credit
  Electives 1 1/2 credits

 

 

1 The mathematics/computer science requirement may be fulfilled by the successful completion of four credits, with a minimum of three credits being earned in mathematics courses.

2 The language requirement may be fulfilled by the successful completion of a combined total of six credits earned studying Latin and one modern language (French, German Mandarin Chinese or Spanish).  A minimum of two credits must be earned in both Latin and the modern language.

3 The fine arts requirement may be fulfilled by the successful completion of a course in art, music or drama.
